We've been back from our winter stay in Florida for 18 days. Things here are slowly getting back to normal. And, once again, I'm making a few cards on an as needed basis. Now you might think that the card I made today would not fall into that category. However, the Double Trouble Challenge is one of my favorites and I made this card for my Double Trouble family.
Using a negative from die cutting those adorable hearts on stems, I stenciled them in the corner of my cs. Next I added the flowers and leaves. (This winter I picked up a piece of very pretty paper at HL that was filled with bunches of flowers, enough for all the gals in my card class. I fussy cut them all. There were just a few partial flowers around the edges which I also fussy cut, knowing I'd find the perfect spot for them.) I stamped a few little spots and my sentiment. Then I embossed the entire piece before adhering it to my card base. I'm very pleased with how this turned out. I'm thinking of making a set to give as a gift. The current Double Trouble Challenge is

My granddaughter had a special birthday a few weeks ago.
I followed the sketch to make her this card.

Using some leftover strips for the weaving, I really like how my card turned out.

For my card, I used various papers from a SU paper pack and added that pretty flowered die cut from Pink and Main.

It is with great sadness that I pack up all the crafty things I brought along to Florida for the winter. But we are snowbirds, and it is time to head back north. It has been so nice enjoying the warmer weather here and watching the snow on the news programs rather than shoveling any of it ourselves. On the other hand, it will be wonderful to see our family in Pennsylvania and enjoy a piece of shoo fly pie.
I've had 2 cards in my head for a while now and decided to quickly make them before we leave.
The first one is a fractured card.
They seem to be very popular right now.
I had just a small piece of pretty butterfly vellum, which I thought would be pretty on this card.
